Mayor Pete Mania on Dyngus Day

South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg, who is running as a Democrat for President of the United States, attends the Dyngus Day Drive Street Renaming at the West Side Democratic Club after the Solidarity Day Dr. street renaming at the Elks Club. Dyngus Day is a traditional Polish holiday, but also a time when South Bend candidates traditionally campaigned for office in the city since Indiana’s primary election is in early May. The inside of the club was standing room only, and Buttigieg struggled to get past his crowd of supporters, and some members of the media were not able to get into the building. The crowd of supporters stood inside as the mayor spoke, and after a few minutes Buttigieg exited, and was whisked away. Buttigieg will be on CNN tonight during a town hall event in New Hampshire.
