Kirkwood stabbing suspect arrested

Bloomington Police arrested Daryl J. Bothell, 18-years-old, who is experiencing homelessness, on charges of level 5 felony battery with a deadly weapon after he allegedly stabbed a man in the hand after an argument on Kirkwood Avenue around 8:38 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2019, according to BPD Capt. Ryan Pedigo.

The stabbing victim is a 46-year-old man who sustained a knife wound to his left hand, and was taken to a hospital. Police detained the suspect in the 200 block of E. Kirkwood avenue.

A witness interviewed by the police said the men were arguing and the stabbing suspect was the ex-boyfriend of a woman who was with the victim. The suspect saw the woman with a man, and began to argue with him, and then pulled out a knife and stabbed him according to the witness.
