Demolition preparation at 4th St. Garage

Preparations have begun to demolish the parking garage on 4th street during the week of September 3 after Labor Day, Wednesday, August 28, 2019 in Bloomington, Indiana. A press release from the City of Bloomington reads in part as follows: “For safety reasons, the north-south alley on the west side of the garage will be closed during the work hours of 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., after which time the alley will re-open to pedestrian traffic. A covered walkway will provide safe access for pedestrians and patrons of the businesses located off the alley for the duration of the demolition. Representatives from the City and contractor F.A. Wilhelm Construction have been meeting with neighboring business owners to share the project timeline, answer questions, address concerns, and introduce the primary point-of-contact during the project.” (Photo by Jeremy Hogan/The Bloomingtonian)
