Bloomington, Indiana – September 3, 2019
The Bloomingtonian asked for additional information from the Bloomington Police Department after last night’s shooting on W. 13th Street in Bloomington, and received the following update this morning from Bloomington Police Dept. Capt. Ryan Pedigo.
“On 9/2 at approximately 9:38 p.m., officers responded to the 1300 block of West 13th Street regarding a large disturbance. As officers were arriving in the area, several gunshots were heard by responding officers as well as numerous individuals that live in the area. Two victims with gunshot wounds were located, neither of which were life-threatening. A 46 year-old man was located with a gunshot wound to his lower leg and a 34 year-old woman was located with a gunshot wound to her foot. It was reported that individuals driving through a nearby parking lot had gotten into a verbal argument with others in the area and suddenly began shooting from the car before fleeing from the area. Others in the area began shooting back at the vehicle as it left the area. Two individuals, Antwain Edmonson (35, transient), and Stephon Huntley (26, Bloomington), were arrested and booked into the Monroe County Jail preliminary for the charge of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, level 5 felony. Both individuals that suffered gunshot wounds have been treated and released from the hospital. Many witnesses at the scene refused to cooperate with the investigation or provide information to investigators. The investigation is still active and additional charges and arrests are likely. No further information will be released at this time.” – Capt. Ryan Pedigo, Bloomington Police Dept.
