Buttigieg campaigns in Iowa

South Bend, Indiana mayor Pete Buttigieg campaigned yesterday in Clinton, Iowa, and Davenport, IA, during the final two stops of a four day bus tour of Iowa, Tuesday, September 24, 2019. A gathering of several hundred supporters, and the curious gathered in a park in downtown Clinton for the 10 a.m. meet and greet. Then over a 1000 packed a gymnasium at St. Ambrose college in Davenport. Buttigieg spoke before participating in a forum with local journalists from Iowa, and then answering questions from supporters that were selected at random. Buttigieg’s four day tour began last Saturday during the Polk County Steak Fry where 12,000 Iowa Democrats gathered to hear speeches by all 17 candidates still in the race for the nomination for president. The Iowa Caucuses will be in early February, and are followed 8 days later by the first primary in New Hampshire. The Democratic National Convention is next summer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
