Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in 250 block of S. Washington St.

A pedestrian was struck Saturday night near the 250 block of S. Washington St., around 6:34 p.m.

Members of the Bloomington Police Department, and Bloomington Fire Department worked at the scene after a person was transported to a hospital in an ambulance. Police closed down westbound E. Third Street at Washington, while they conducted an investigation. A single shoe was sitting upside down near two bags in the street.

A group of witnesses were talking with police before the police taped off the area. Others looked from their tables in a busy restaurant, and a woman in a bathrobe looked down onto the scene from the balcony of a nearby apartment.

No information is know about the injuries potentially sustained by the pedestrian who was struck, and police were continuing to investigate at the scene. An update to this story will be published if more information becomes available.
