Police looking for suspects after multiple shots fired Sunday night

The Bloomington Police Department responded to a report of multiple gunshots fired Sunday night, but are looking for information about the shooting, according to the BPD. No arrests have been made, and there were no injuries, according to the police.

Sunday night around 9:39 p.m. multiple callers reported shots being fire in the area of W. Third Street, and Kimble Drive, and witnesses believed they saw a dark green sedan with large chrome wheels, and a white sedan, and the drivers both cars fled the scene, according to the police.

A 52-year-old woman reported she was traveling north on Kimble Dr., and heard what she thought were gunshots, but when the rear window of her 2005 Jeep Cherokee, shattered she realized they were gunshots, according to the police. Officers located a bullet lodged in the roof of the vehicle.

A pickup truck was seen in the area at the time of the shooting, and stopped by the police, but its occupants were released when police determined they were not involved.

The Bloomingtonian arrived at the scene shortly after the shooting where officers were marking the locations of more than a dozen bullet casings, which the police said in a statement were 9mm shell casings.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact BPD at (812) 339-4477.
