Robber shot, wounded, on Bloomington’s east side

A robber was shot as two robbers entered an apartment in the 3200 block of E. 10th Street Sunday night in Bloomington, according to the BPD.

Before 10 p.m. two men entered an apartment and began yelling at the occupants to get on the floor, according to the police. As a man in a ski mask was pointing a handgun at individuals in the apartment, and a 25 year old man began wrestling with a man who was pointing the gun at another occupant, according to BPD. Then a 24-year-old woman, who was an occupant of the apartment pulled out a 9mm handgun, and shot a robber in the neck.

When police arrived, the robber was conscious and awake, according to the police, but was taken by an ambulance to IU Health Bloomington, and is currently in critical, but stable condition. The woman who shot the man left the scene, but later agreed to go to the police station for questioning, according to the police.

Investigators are still trying to identify the other robber, but noted there were indicators of drug activity in the apartment, and suspect the sale of drugs to be a factor in the incident.

No arrests have been made, but police are asking anybody with more information to contact Detective Joe Henry, at: (812) 349-3907.
