Woman says she was robbed at gunpoint

According to the Bloomington Police Department, a woman said she was robbed at gunpoint in the 2100 block of N. Walnut, Monday night around 11:42 p.m.

When police arrived a visibly upset woman, with injuries to her face, reported a man had punched her in the head, and held a gun to her chin while threatening to kill her, according to BPD Capt. Ryan Pedigo. The 25-year-old woman who is transient, said she was sitting in an acquaintance’s car when the man leaned through the window, and robbed her, according to the police. She said she tried to use her phone to call 911, but said the man grabbed her phone and left with it, according to the police.

Police say they suspect the incident was not a random act, and that drugs were a contributing factor. Anybody with information about the robbery can contact Bloomington Police Department Detective Kevin Frank: (812) 349-3322.
