Brazen car theft from downtown Kroger

By Marci Creps

Bloomington police are investigating the theft of an SUV Wednesday afternoon.

At 3:33 p.m., a BPD officer was working off-duty security at Kroger Seminary Square when an employee approached him to report a theft. The employee reported her wallet, which included her SUV keys, had been stolen from the employee break room. When the employee went outside, she noticed her white 2018 Honda HR-V was stolen.

A review of surveillance video showed an unknown male entering the employee break room and leaving shortly thereafter. The same man is then seen leaving the store, getting into the SUV and driving off.

The SUV has not been located, and the case is active.
