U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrests man on warrant after collision

Members of the Bloomington Police Department working with the United States Marshals fugitive task force arrested a man at the corner of South Walnut and E. Southern Drive, according to BPD Capt. Scott Oldham.

Oldham said the man arrested had a warrant.

Pulsepoint showed a vehicle accident at 11:37 a.m. in the intersection.

A member of the Bloomington community Anthony Scott Piatt recorded video of the arrest, and provided it to The Bloomingtonian. Update: The Herald-Times is reporting that the driver of the black truck was injured and taken to the hospital, and a second person was also arrested. However, no further information has been released about the incident.

In the video, law enforcement officers arrest the man with guns drawn. When The Bloomingtonian arrived members of the US Marshals, and federal law enforcement, were still at the scene.

It’s unknown at this time why the man had a warrant, but this story will be updated if more information becomes available.
