Three apparent overdose deaths being investigated; Recovery Alliance warns: “BAD BATCH ALERT!”

Monroe County Coroner Joani Shields confirmed with the Bloomingtonian three area residents died of apparent overdoses Thursday.

“I can confirm we currently have 3 death investigations we are conducting from today, Thursday, and they appear to be possible overdose-related. All 3 are being sent for an autopsy so no confirmed cause of death yet,” said Shields.

The Indiana Recovery Alliance posted the following statement Thursday evening, “

“BAD BATCH ALERT! There’s a bad batch out right now. We do not have more information, but we’ve just heard about 3 deaths in one afternoon. Please be safe. Please carry Naloxone. Please don’t use alone. Call the Never Use Alone hotline if you have no choice but to use alone (800) 484-3731, and someone will stay on the phone with you to make sure you are okay. We love you.”
