Fatal shooting early Sunday morning in Bloomington

A 39-year-old man was shot, and killed in the parking lot of a convenience store in the 2100 block of North Walnut, according to the police.

Officers responded at about 2:11 a.m. after a call about a person being shot and located a male passenger of a car shot in the neck. Officers immediately began life-saving efforts, but the man was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The suspect fled the scene and is still at large, according to the police. The shooting was not a random act of violence, and the involved parties knew each another.

Police detectives are still investigating the case, and if more information becomes available, this story will be updated.
