Police arrest man after pursuit Tuesday night

The Bloomington Police arrested a 53-year-old Bloomfield man driving a green 2004 Jaguar after a pursuit Tuesday night.

Police officers responded to a convenience store in the 200 block of E. Winslow Rd., and while looking for a trespasser believed to be wanted on a warrant, noticed another man sitting in the driver’s seat of a Jaguar weighing what appeared to be a large amount of a white crystal-like substance while using a scale on the floor of the vehicle, according to the police. Police also saw a 100 dollar bill, and a spoon in the vehicle.

When police approached the man he started the car putting it in reverse. A police officer managed to jump out of the way of the vehicle before being hit. The driver then fled the scene, and two police officers got into their own vehicles and began a pursuit.

The car finally came to a stop at Hickory Stick Drive, and Hickory Stick Court and the man put his hands up outside the window before being removed and detained from the vehicle.

Police searched the vehicle and found a digital scale, and two bags with 8.3, and 24.48 grams of a white substance believed to be meth. Police also recovered another bag thrown from the car containing 45.67 grams of the same substance.

The man is facing charges of manufacturing/dealing methamphetamine, level 2 felony; possession of marijuana, b misdemeanor; possession of paraphernalia, c misdemeanor; and resisting law enforcement, level 6 felony.
