Bloomington police investigated two instances of shots fired within city limits Monday night and early Tuesday morning, according to Bloomington Police Department Capt. Ryan Pedigo.
Police responded to a complaint of shots fired in the area of S. Odell Drive Monday night at approximately 6:43 p.m. Officers located three .40 caliber spent casings, and two unspent casings of the same caliber in a parking lot.
It was reported to police that three shots were fired then a silver Chevy Cobalt, black truck, and a silver SUV left the scene. Police did not locate any damage to nearby vehicles or residences, according to Pedigo. Police did not locate a suspect in the shooting.
Around 12:25 a.m. police responded after multiple callers reported hearing gunshots in the area of W. 13th Street according to Pedigo.
A witness told police they heard what sounded like firecrackers then witnessed multiple shots being fired from a handgun. There were four or five men in the area where the shots were fired, and then an SUV was driven away at a high rate of speed.
Police found 8 empty .380 caliber handgun spent casings at the scene but failed to locate a suspect. Pedigo said nobody was injured by the gunfire, but this morning police were called after a bullet hole had been found in the front window of an apartment in the 1300 block of W. 13th Street.
