Police continue to investigate homicide

The Bloomington Police Department is still actively investigating the death of a woman last Thursday, which was ruled a homicide, said Bloomington Police Capt. Ryan Pedigo during Tuesday’s daily press briefing.

Pedigo released the following statement Monday to the media, and is asking anybody with information to contact the Bloomington Police Department:

“At this time, I can confirm that there is an active homicide investigation underway regarding the death of 32 year-old Teresa Michael in an apartment in the 500 block of S Basswood Drive on January 28th, 2021. Monroe County Coroner Joani Shields announced earlier today that the preliminary cause of death has been ruled “manual strangulation” and the manner of death is homicide.”
