Deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, and members of the Bloomington Police responded to an apartment in the 900 block of S. Adams St., Tuesday night, after a woman having a mental health crisis falsely reported being held hostage at gunpoint.
Monroe County Sheriff’s Office afternoons Sgt. Chris Elliott said the report was unfounded.
However, a Signal 100 was called as law enforcement from across the city arrived to assist. A Signal 100 means all radio traffic, except emergency traffic, is held.
Police officers and members of the Bloomington Police Department began to put their rifles back into their vehicles after about 45 minutes when the incident was resolved.
