Scanner traffic: Rifle allegedly fired into woods at Flatwoods Park during gender reveal party Sunday

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a weapons call at Flatwoods Park Sunday near Ellettsville, according to scanner traffic.

It was reported that a person was firing a .22 caliber rifle at Tannerite explosive target material in the woods during a gender reveal party. The responding member of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said they didn’t see a weapon, but told a group at the location they couldn’t be firing a gun.

The MCSO responding deputy is then heard saying they were going to check the trail in the woods for injured people.
