More details about crash of second motorcycle rider to die over weekend

It is unknown exactly when the man who was found dead Saturday morning after an apparent motorcycle crash went off the road, according to Monroe County Sheriff’s Department Capt. Ryan Davis.

Davis said the MCSO was dispatched to the address of 9999 W. State Road 46 Saturday, and Central Dispatch advised the crash scene was located on the Northside of the roadway, and a male subject involved appeared deceased. Soon EMS workers at the scene confirmed the death.

“During the preliminary investigation, it appeared that the motorcycle was traveling West on West State Road 46. Once the vehicle passed West Foster Fiscus Road the vehicle went off the roadway and traveled approximately 300-400 feet,” Davis told The Bloomingtonian in an e-mail.

Davis noted the deceased motorcycle rider was not wearing a helmet.

After discovering the deceased man, the Monroe County Coroner was contacted so the man could be transported from the scene. The deceased was later identified as Charles J. Branam, 52-years-old, of Spencer Indiana.
