BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA – AUGUST 24: A procession heads east on W. Second Street for Kyle Martincic, a paramedic, who died yesterday (August 23, 2021) after a medical emergency, on August 24, 2021, in Bloomington, Indiana. Martincic, who was on duty as a full-time Civilian Paramedic with the White River Township Fire Department in Greenwood, Ind., and had just completed a rehab workout, when he had a sudden illness. He later died at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was the second area Paramedic to die recently from a heart-related issue. Owen County EMS worker Brandon Staley recently died while on duty. Martincic was a member of IAFF Local 4252, Johnson County Professional Firefighters. Martincic, 34-years-old, also worked part-time for IU Health Bloomington as a paramedic, for the Bargersville Community Fire Department as a paramedic, and at the Central Nine Career center as an EMT instructor.
