Car damaged in Eastside shooting Monday afternoon

Police are investigating after a man said he was shot at in the 3200 block of Longview Drive Monday afternoon.

After the shooting, the uninjured man drove a grey Hyundai Elantra to the parking lot of the Woodbridge Post Office.  He said he was shot at in the parking lot of an apartment building in the 3200 block of E. Longview Drive shortly before 1 p.m.

The Bloomingtonian found police in the parking lot of the Woodbridge Post Office investigating the shooting. 

One round went through the top of the windshield of a car and entered the vehicle between the driver’s and passenger seat. Another round hit the car on the top of the passenger side fender. The front passenger side tire was flat, and fluid was leaking from the vehicle. A member of the Bloomington police department collected evidence where the bullets hit the car.

Bloomington Police Department Capt. Ryan Pedigo told the Bloomingtonian there were no injuries in the shooting. 

Police were still working to investigate the shooting Monday afternoon. The Bloomingtonian will have an update when more information is available.
