A stolen gray 1995 Ford Ranger was recovered this morning by members of law enforcement, according to Bloomington Police Department Capt. Ryan Pedigo.
Around 12:59 a.m. Thursday a deputy from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office saw the truck backed into a parking lot at the Best Value Inn in the 200 block of E Ind., 45/46 Bypass. The deputy identified it as the truck reported stolen in late September:
Members of law enforcement contacted the 69-year-old owner of the truck, who was then brought to the location to take possession of his stolen truck. There was no key in the ignition, but the owner of the truck had a spare. The tape covering rust on the truck had been removed.
The Bloomington Police Department is still actively investigating the case and trying to determine who parked the truck where it was recovered.
