
Man found early Friday evening bleeding in parking lot
A man was found bleeding in the parking lot of the Red Brick Apartments in the 2400 block of W. Third Street Friday, according to Bloomington Police Department Capt. Ryan Pedigo. Police do not know yet how the man was injured.
Around 7:09 p.m. a caller told police that a man stumbled into an Uber, fell to the ground, and said, “help.” The 41-year-old Bloomington man was found by EMS responders to be bleeding from the inner ear.
Police have been unable to interview the man at the hospital. But, Pedigo said no weapon was found at the scene, and a caller told police they heard a thud before the man was discovered on the ground bleeding. Pedigo said the man was not injured by a gunshot.


Gunshots fired early Saturday near Red Brick Apartments
Police responded to the Red Brick Apartments early Saturday morning after multiple calls of multiple shots fired, according to Pedigo.
A caller reported hearing a commotion outside in the parking lot between a group of males and females and thought they saw a woman holding a pistol. Then they heard several gunshots.
A witness said some of the group fled in an SUV that headed westbound W. Third Street, and others scattered on foot said Pedigo.
Police found no bullet casings or damage at the scene.

Shots fired Sunday night
Police received multiple calls about multiple shots being fired Sunday night on the Westside, according to Pedigo. However, police were unable to locate any casings.
A caller in the 1400 block of W. 13th Street reported hearing several shots, but a caller in the 1400 block of W. 6th Street told police they believed they were fireworks.
However, The Bloomingtonian has audio from a surveillance camera of what sounds like 5 gunshots being fired.
Early Saturday morning report of gunshots believed to be fireworks
Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 500 block of S. Basswood around 3:06 a.m. Saturday, but the sounds are believed to be from fireworks, said Pedigo.
One caller said they heard 5 gunshots, and another said they heard 7-10, but an officer located a spent fireworks device in the woods. The device was still smoldering.
