The MCCSC released a statement on Facebook saying the school is on lockdown after a student brought a pellet gun to school. Bloomington police could be heard on OpenMHZ.com scanner traffic saying a student had been handcuffed by security.
Here is the statement:
“A student at Bloomington High School South was found to be in possession of a pellet gun Friday morning (Oct. 15) while at school. The matter was quickly addressed by the school administration and the Bloomington Police Department, and there is no active threat to our school at this time. All safety protocols have been implemented and Bloomington High School South is currently on lockdown status out of an abundance of caution. A statement will be released by the school later today.”
This is the second time in the past couple of weeks a student at BHSS has brought a gun to school, but the last time the gun was a loaded 9mm Glock, and an extra clip.
MCCSC says South will release a statement later today.
