Running vehicles are stolen

Police are still looking for two vehicles stolen while left unlocked and running with the keys in the ignition, according to Bloomington Police Lt. John Kovach.

A woman told police she left her silver 2008 Mazda minivan running before 7:23 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, in the 1000 block of S. Basswood Circle. But a few minutes later the vehicle was missing from the parking lot of the apartment complex.

The van, valued at 5 thousand dollars, has not been recovered.

In a separate incident, a man told police he left his 2004 silver Jeep Grand Cherokee running around 1:46 a.m. this morning (Thursday, November 4, 2021) in the 200 block of N. Walnut Street and went back inside his place of work. However, when he returned at 1:48 a.m. he saw three white males inside the Jeep as it was pulling away from where he parked it.

Police have not recovered the vehicle.
