The Old National Bank in the 4100 block of W. Third Street was robbed Monday morning, according to Bloomington Police Department Capt. Ryan Pedigo.

Police were dispatched to the bank around 11:49 a.m. after a hold-up alarm, and then a bank employee called 911 and reported the bank was just robbed.

A man walked into the bank and approached the teller, produced a bag, laid it on the counter, and told the teller to put money in the bag, said Pedigo. The man was dressed in gray sweatpants, a camouflage coat, and a camouflage hat.

The teller told police the man displayed what appeared to be a black handgun before taking the bag with money and fleeing the bank on foot.

“Several officers from the Bloomington Police Department, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the Indiana State Police responded to the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The investigation remains active and anyone with information, or who may have seen the suspect, is asked to call Detective Joe Henry at (812) 339-4477,” said Pedigo.
