Another swastika found painted in Bloomington over weekend; Fourth recent case

Police were dispatched to the 300 block of E. 1st Street Monday after a swastika was found painted on the side of a building, according to Bloomington Police Department Capt. Ryan Pedigo. This is the fourth incident of hate graffiti in Bloomington during the past couple of weeks.

Pedigo released the following to members of the media:

“At approximately 12:30 pm on 12/13, a 33-year-old woman called to report that she had located a swastika painted on the side of the garage at the residence she is renting in the 300 block of E 1st Street. She reported that she had actually located the vandalism around 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 10th. She was not sure when the vandalism occurred. The case is active as investigators attempt to make contact with neighbors to see if surveillance cameras might have captured video of the suspect(s).
