Two men were shot with plastic pellets while standing on a sidewalk near Brothers Bar & Grill in the 200 block of N. Walnut Sunday night, according to Bloomington Police Department Capt. Ryan Pedigo. Three were arrested a short time later.
Outside Brothers around 10:25 p.m. Sunday night a 27-year-old man told police he was struck in the neck with a plastic projectile, and it hurt. Another man was hit in the chest. The men told police a black Ford F150 had passed at the time the projectiles were fired.
The man who was hit in the neck said he thought he should call the police because someone might mistake the SplatRBall ® gun for a real one and shoot at the suspect with real bullets.
The F150 was located by Indiana University Police and an 18-year-old Bedford man, and two juveniles were arrested.
The driver of the truck is being charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated battery, and aggravated battery, both misdemeanors. The juveniles in the truck are being charged with misdemeanors for aggravated battery, and one is also being charged with a misdemeanor for possession of a vape pen containing THC.
