Burglar arrested after CIRT response on East Ramp Creek Road Sunday night

A burglar was arrested Sunday at a residence in the 3800 block of East Ramp Road after the Critical Incident Response Team responded, according a press release sent to the Bloomingtonian by Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Troy Thomas. The burglar changed the lock on the gate to the residence.

Responding MCSO deputies recognized a stolen Ford F-150 outside the residence, where the lock to a gate had been changed, and an armed man was inside. The home’s owner noticed his Nest thermostat ad been adjusted, and the camera was disconnected, before sending a neighbor to check on the house, who then alerted law enforcement.

Eventually a 30-year-old man was talked into surrendering, according to the press release.
