Prii targeted again by catalytic converter thieves in Bloomington, Indiana

Three Toyotas and a Honda had their catalytic converters stolen between Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Bloomington Police Capt. Ryan Pedigo.

The owner of a 2009 Toyota Prius reported their car was targeted between Tuesday, and 10 a.m. Wednesday. They discovered the vehicle in the 800 block of W. Howe Street missing the converter when they started the vehicle.

In the 400 block of S. Walker sometime between 8 p.m. on Tuesday the 8th and 3 a.m. on the 9th, the catalytic converter was stolen from a 2008 Toyota Prius.

In the 1400 block of S. Washington, a Honda AEX parallel parked was targeted for its catalytic converter between 3 p.m. Tuesday, and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Then finally, police were informed a 2008 Toyota Prius parked near the mailboxes at an apartment building in the 1600 block of S. Oakdale had its converter stolen.

This is the second time in two weeks Prii were targeted in a catalytic converter theft spree:

Toyota Prius cars made from 2004 until 2009 are the most targeted car in the United State for catalytic converter theft.
