A van and a car were reported stolen during separate incidents in Bloomington Tuesday, according to Bloomington Police Capt. Ryan Pedigo.
Around 6:20 a.m. Tuesday an employee at Golden Living Center reported a van with Golden Living Center painted onto the side was stolen from the front of the business. The employee told police he parked a 2008 Chevrolet transport bus in front of the assisted living center and left it running with the keys in it. He went inside briefly to help a resident into the van, but when he came back the van was gone.
Police later found the van abandoned at an apartment complex in the 3000 block of East Amy Lane, but no keys in it. An oxygen tank and the vehicle’s registration were found discarded in 300 block of North Pete Ellis. Then police found the van.
Later Tuesday, a man contacted police to report his 2014 Fiat 500 stolen. He said he may have left it unlocked with the keys in it.
The Fiat went missing in the 600 block of East Ridge Crest Court. The owner told police the car was parked around 9 p.m. Monday night and discovered missing around 11 a.m. Tuesday.
