W Terrace Dr Structure Fire

Monroe County, Indiana, April 8, 2022 – Monroe Fire Protection District was called to Country Club Terrace Mobile Home Park, around 2:45 pm this afternoon for a structure fire.

While responding to the call dispatch advised they had a caller that believed everyone was out of the trailer and then reported another caller saying they thought someone might be in the trailer.  When firefighters arrived on scene they found smoke coming from the back of the trailer and immediately conducted a search of the home.  No one was found in the home during the search.  Firefighters did find a small fire in the back of the trailer.  The fire was quickly extinguished limiting the fire damage to a bathroom and bedroom.  The bedroom door was closed at the time of the fire helping to stop the fire from spreading to the rest of the trailer.  A meter reader was making rounds in the neighborhood when they noticed smoke coming from the trailer and called 911 and alerted a neighbor.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.  No injuries were reported.

MFD was assisted on scene by Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and IU Health Lifeline Ambulance.
