
A 21-year-old woman was shot multiple times before a vehicle sped away Tuesday night around 10:56 p.m., in the 1200 block of North Maple Street according to Bloomington Police Department Captain Ryan Pedigo. Police are not sure if the vehicle speeding away was involved in the shooting.
The woman was standing outside an apartment with a 17-year-old male when the shooting occurred. She was taken to IU Health Bloomington hospital for her injuries, and then air-lifted to an Indianapolis hospital.
Radio traffic captured on OpenMHZ.com indicated the woman may have been shot in the neck, and the arm. The BPD has not confirmed where she was shot but stated they do not have information about her current medical condition. Medical information is protected by HIPPA privacy laws. Police rendered aid to the woman until EMS workers arrived.
Police were combing the scene for evidence after the shooting during an investigation afterward.

Bloomington Police Investigate Shooting
The Bloomington Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 1200 block of N Maple Street. On June 14th at approximately 10:56 p.m., officers responded to the area in reference to a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located a 21 year-old woman inside an apartment with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers began administering emergency medical care until the arrival of an ambulance. The victim was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment, but was later flown to an Indianapolis hospital via LifeLine helicopter due to the seriousness of her injuries.
It was reported that the victim and a 17 year-old male had been standing outside the apartment when someone began firing multiple times at them from the area of the parking lot. It is not known how many rounds were fired, nor how many shooters there were. After the shooting, a passenger car was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed, but it is unknown if the vehicle was involved in the shooting.
