Woman assaulted Sunday night in Seminary Kroger parking lot

A woman was assaulted in the parking lot of Seminary Kroger in the 500 block of South College Avenue around 10:20 p.m., Sunday, September 11, 2022.

He punched the woman in face causing an injury that will possibly require stitches. Then the man returned a few minutes later with a large knife. The man was carrying the knife pointed downward, and said he was going to kill the woman. He swung the knife four times trying to cut the woman’s throat, but the woman put up her hands in defense, getting lacerations on top of her fingers, and on her right hand.

Police found a large fixed blade knife in possession of the 34-year-old suspect, who was arrested, and preliminarily charged with domestic battery, intimidation, and battery committed with a deadly weapon which are all level 5 felonies.
