Three thieves can be seen on camera getting out of a newer model truck to jack up a Toyota Prius to steal the catalytic converter in the 1400 block of W. 8th Street in Bloomington, Indiana.
The crew pulled up in a full-size extended cab truck, jacked the car up, and cut the catalytic converter using battery-powered power tools. It took less than three minutes.
The brazen act was caught on video.
The car belongs to the Bloomingtonian, and will now have to be repaired.
In addition to the catalytic converter stolen on 8th Street, the thieves damaged Toyota Prii on 6th, 7th, and 9th Streets around the same time.
Editor’s note: For the naysayers to like to get on Reddit and talk trash … yes, the car belonged to the Bloomingtonian and is used for newsgathering. To those who appreciate the work I do, please consider subscribing, I’m going to have to at least pay the deductible on this now, and it’s costing me a lot of money to gather and report the news. Thanks!
