Martinsville, Indiana fire destroys residence Sunday night as crews lack water

A lack of available water stymied firefighters after a report of a residence fire in the 3000 block of Lower Patton Road in Martinsville, Sunday, January 29, 2023. The fire was extinguished after two hours.

Here is the text of a post from the City of Martinsville Fire Department’s Facebook page:

9:50 P.M.- Morgan County Public Safety Dispatch received a call of a residence fire in the 3000 block of Lower Patton Park Road. Gregg Township Fire Department arrived on scene reporting a ”working – defensive fire”. It took the combined efforts of Paragon Volunteer Fire Company, Brooklyn Volunteer Fire Department – Station 42, Monroe Twp Fire District, A&A Fire Department, Green Township Fire Rescue , Washington Twp Fire Department and MFD approximately two hours to control the fire due to the lack of available water. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
