A porch pirate, and his lookout, were caught by the Bloomington Police Department Thursday, according to the Bloomington Police Department.
Around 2:02 p.m. a neighbor witnessed a man go onto a porch, and place a package into a black bag, so they called the police. A woman was acting as the suspected porch pirate’s lookout. The caller told police the two suspects dressed in black were last seen on South Buckner, in Bloomington. The house they took the item from is in the 300 block of South Davisson.
Police soon located the suspects matching the description in an alley. Then police walked the route, and found a discarded box, and a black bag filled with items that still had tags on them.
Police suspect the crew stole more than one package but were unable to determine who most of the items were stolen from. However, police did contact the victim whose package was taken in the 300 block of South Davisson and determine what item the suspects had taken.
A 37-year-old man was arrested and charged with an A misdemeanor for theft. Police list the man’s address as, “transient.” Police are seeking a warrant for the arrest of the woman who worked as his assistant.
