Catalytic converter theft – February 9, 2023

A 20-year-old woman reported the catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle belonging to a 61-year-old while it was parked at her residence. The theft took place in the 500 block of South Ridge Road, in Bloomington, Indiana.

Intoxicated woman climbs a tree – February 10, 2023

A 26-year-old woman was arrested for obstructing traffic, public intoxication, and resisting law enforcement. Police were called to the 300 block of South Walnut Street, in Bloomington, Indiana for a report that a person has climbed a tree, and the fire department was requesting assistance. The woman then walked into traffic, and made strange statements, while making strange statements.

Theft from CVS South – February 10, 2023

An employee at CVS South, located in the 2600 block of South Walnut in Bloomington, Indiana, observed a female stealing from the business. The employee confronted the unknown woman, who eventually returned cosmetics, jewelry, and medical supplies. When she was followed out to the parking lot she fled. Police eventually located a 42-year-old woman, who admitted to the theft, and was then issued a misdemeanor citation for theft.

Towels stolen from Upstairs Pub – February 10, 2023

An employee at Upstairs Pub reported that a known male stole two lockers located behind the business. The lockers contained an unknown number of towels.

Vehicle fire – February 10, 2023

Police responded to a vehicle fire in the 1400 block of South Washington Street. Nobody was harmed in the fire, which the driver described as a mechanical malfunction. According to scanner traffic, flames were visible when police arrived.

Patio blocks stolen – February 11, 2023

A 70-year-old woman reported to police that an unknown man stole three patio blocks from her backyard in the 300 block of South Muller Parkway.

Assault – February 11, 2023

A 21-year-old woman told police that an unknown female assaulted her by pulling her hair and knocking her to the ground in the area of East Kirkwood Avenue and North Dunn Street. The woman suffered scrapes on her knees, elbow, and arms during the attack. Then the same female vandalized the victim’s vehicle by pulling her rearview mirror off the windshield before an unknown female pepper sprayed the assailant. The assailant, a 24-year-old woman was arrested for battery and criminal mischief.

Gunshots fired at man – February 11, 2023

A witness told police an unknown person fired several shots at a man in the 2300 block of South Rockport Road. Officers found a bag containing a green leafy substance and spent shell casings on the ground. The police heard the shots during a separate call in the area. Several others in the area also heard the gunshots but did not see anything.

Shoplifting at Sam’s Club – February 11, 2023

A representative from Sam’s Club reported three unknown suspects stole clothing and electronics from the store in the 3200 block of West State Road 45.

Scooter stolen – February 11, 2023

A 54-year-old man told police an unknown suspect stole his electric scooter, with accessory lights, handlebar grips, extension, and storage bags attached.

Bicycle stolen – February 11, 2023

A 26-year-old woman told police that her bicycle was stolen from her residence in the 800 block of South Dixie Street. The lock was cut off the bike while it was stored near her front door.

Dog attack – February 11, 2023

A 48-year-old man reported to police that a dog attacked him and his dogs resulting in the man having a puncture wound to his hand, and scrapes to his hands and knees from falling. He will have to take his dogs to a veterinarian for care. The incident was listed to have occurred in the 300 block of South Wilmington Court.
