Indie rock bands Titus Andronicus and Country Westerns will perform at the Bishop, March 31, 2023, according to an announcement sent to the Bloomingtonian.
“Titus Andronicus are coming your way soon, finally on the road behind last year’s unforgettable LP The Will To Live. They’re supported by Nashville rockers Country Westerns, whose upcoming album Forgive The City is out April 28 on Fat Possum Records.
The Will to Live is partially in response to the death of Patrick’s former bandmate (and closest cousin) Matt “Money” Miller in 2021. It’s a bit of an examination of mortality and also a celebration of life, now that he is in his most stable mental health state possibly ever. It’s also his attempt at creating a maximalist rock epic — at its heart, there’s a concept he refers to as Ultimate Rock, and believe me when I say he has a lot to say about that.
Lest we forget about Country Westerns, they’re the best thing out of Nashville in a long, long time. Simple yet profound, rough-edged yet tender, tight yet freewheeling, they are bringing something fresh to rock music that hasn’t been heard in a while.”
