A single-vehicle collision around 6:55 a.m. closed Indiana State Road 45 for about an hour Tuesday morning, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
The MCSO released the following information to the Bloomingtonian:
“On March 21, 2023, at approximately 06:55 am Monroe county sheriff’s deputies responded to SR 45 just East of Stanford Road for a single vehicle personal injury accident. A 2010 Ford Fusion ran off the road to avoid a collision with another vehicle. As a result of running off the roadway, the vehicle became inverted. The driver complained of pain to his head, neck, and back and also suffered a nearly severed right ear. As a result, he was later transported to Methodist via medical helicopter. The westbound lane of W State Road 45 was closed for approximately 1 hour for scene clean up.
