A 45-year-old man reported his tent, sleeping bags, tarps, and money were stolen during last weekend’s storm early Saturday morning, according to Bloomington Police Department Captain Ryan Pedigo.

The man, who is currently unhoused, told police he’d taken down his tent due to impending severe weather, and gone to sleep. It wasn’t clear where he slept.

The man told police he noticed his belongings were strewn about after he woke up around 7 a.m. When he began to inspect his items, some were missing. He told police someone had stolen his tent, two sleeping bags, a few tarps, and some of his money.

Police encountered the man while responding to a separate issue in the area, the man hadn’t called the police.
