Monroe Fire Protection District responds to a collision Saturday evening; One vehicle inverted
The MFD released the following on Facebook:
“MFD units responded to S Old State Rd 37 and Dillman Rd for a motor vehicle accident earlier this evening.
Crews arrived to find one of the vehicles inverted. All occupants were able to get out of the vehicles on their own. Two individuals were transported to the hospital for further evaluation of their injuries.”
Indiana 46 east of Vandalia was closed Saturday
The Owen County Sheriff’s Office released the following on Facebook Saturday, May 13, 2023:
“All lanes of State Road 46 east of Vandalia and west of Spencer in Owen County are currently closed. Crews are working on an emergency slide repair. The location of the slide repair is east of Chapman Road and west of Carmichael Lane.
Access to local homes and businesses will be maintained.
Detour will follow the route of S.R. 59 to I-70 to U.S. 231.
We will keep you up to date as more information becomes available.”

The LCSO released the following on Facebook on May 11, 2023:
“*****WARNING*****
If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be an officer who informs you that you have a warrant for your arrest and must send money….IT’S A SCAM!!! We do not do that.”
