IndyCar drivers are brave and focused – it’s in their job description. One thing special about the Month of May is that fans get a chance to watch great drivers that do not have full-time race seats in the NTT IndyCar Series perform at Indy.

The following list of race car drivers are only competing in the Indianapolis 500 during the 2023 NTT IndyCar Season.

Marco Andretti, 2020 Pole winner racing for Andretti Autosport.

R.C. Enerson racing for Abel Motorsports.

Tony Kanaan, 2013 Indy 500 winner, racing for Arrow McLaren. Kanaan said in February that he is retiring from the sport after the 2023 Indianapolis 500.

Katherine Legge racing for Rahal Letterman Lanigan.

Recent Indianapolis 500 history has been kind to one off race drivers. In 2021 Helio Castroneves won the 105 Indianapolis 500 for Meyer Shank Racing. This was planned to be Castroneves only race of the 2021 season, but his good fortune at Indy led to a full-time racing seat at Myer Shank Racing.
