Gunshots fired – June 6, 2023
Several residents heard gunshots in the 2500 block of South Rockport Road.
Dog stolen – June 7, 2023
A 40-year-old man said that a known male stole his dog while he was sleeping on the streets of downtown Bloomington.
Aggravated assault – June 7, 2023
A 26-year-old woman reported that a known woman hit her with a coffee cup at the Shalom Center in the 600 block of South Walnut Street. The victim received lacerations to her lip and head requiring stitches during the assault.
Girl assaulted by boy – June 7, 2023
The father of a 12-year-old girl reported that a known 12-year-old boy assaulted his daughter when she was walking home from school.
Vandalism – June 7, 2023
A person complained that someone stuck gum under their vehicle’s door handle and wrote on their windshield with an unspecified substance at the Seminary Kroger located in the 500 block of South Walnut Street.
Porch pirates steal silver bar – June 8, 2023
A 37-year-old man reported that someone stole a package delivered to his apartment complex which contained a silver bar. The log doesn’t say how much silver the bar contained.
Thief uses bank card stolen from vehicle – June 8, 2023
A 22-year-old man reported that someone broke into his vehicle and stole a bank card from his wallet, which they then used to make several charges before the victim could cancel it.
Furniture store vandalized – June 9, 2023
Police officers responding to an alarm found a door panel broken, and it propped open with a stick, at Kittles Furniture in the 2800 block of East Buick Cadillac Boulevard.
Man found dead – June 9, 2023
Police found a 21-year-old male deceased at an apartment building in the 200 block of North Smith Road. Officers investigated, and the case was still active on June 10, 2023.
Kroger gas station theft – June 9, 2023
Two unknown individuals stole drinks from the coolers at the fueling center by using a hammer to damage the door in the 1100 block of South College Mall Road.
Woman arrested at Bloomington Hardware – June 9, 2023
A woman, who a manager suspected of stealing items at Bloomington Hardware, was arrested and now faces charges of identity deception, possession of meth, possession of a narcotic, a syringe, and for criminal mischief.
Man kicks police officer – June 9, 2023
Police responding to a disturbance at the Uptown Cafe encountered a male who refused to provide identification, and then kicked an officer in the leg, and hip. The man was then arrested and faces charges of battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct, and providing a false identity statement.
Vehicle stolen and damaged – June 10, 2023
A 53-year-old woman reported that her car was stolen. The vehicle was later recovered in a tree line. But, the steering wheel was damaged, and the windshield wipers were snapped.
Porch pirate caught in the act – June 10, 2023
A police officer observed an unknown male looking through a mailbox, and taking a white package belonging to someone else at 10th and North Washington Street. The officer watched the man leave the porch of the house before he spotted the officer and changed directions. But, the officer was able to catch the 47-year-old man, place him under arrest, and return the package to the mail box.
Man dies of apparent overdose – June 10, 2023
Police found a 31-year-old man deceased from an apparent overdose at a residence in the 300 block of West Hillside Drive.
Gun stolen from car – June 11, 2023
A 21-year-old man told police that someone broke into his locked car, and stole a hangun, holster, two ammo magazines, an iPhone, a charging cable, a set of keys and a laser tape measure in the 1400 block of South Basswood Circle.
Gunshots reported – June 12, 2023
Gunshots were reported in the 100 block of East Ridgeview Court, and officers found spent shell casings. There was no injury or property damage.
Scooter stolen – June 12, 2023
A 43-year-old man reported that someone stole his 2015 Honda scooter from the parking lot of the apartment where he lives in the 3900 block of West Roll Avenue.
