Arson Incident Leaves Non-Profit Healing Hands Outreach Center Dealing with Damaged Dumpster

An unknown individual set fire to a dumpster at the Healing Hands Outreach Center. The incident occurred on June 13, 2023, at approximately 10:41 a.m. in the 1900 block of South Walnut Street.

The arson left the dumpster visibly charred and damaged.

According to the initial information provided on the Bloomington Police daily summary, an unidentified person deliberately set fire to the dumpster.

The exact motive behind the act of arson remains unknown, as does the identity of the individual responsible.

According to Healing Hands’ website, their mission is the following: “We provide free resources and services that address immediate and long-term needs in the areas of homelessness, hunger, and poverty. Our vision is to expand our efforts to provide support for addiction, abuse, education and human trafficking.”
