Firefighters responded to an early Saturday vehicle fire threatening a house on South Strain Ridge Road, according to the Monroe Fire Protection District. The incident took place at approximately 4:15 a.m.
Dispatch told firefighters on the way to the scene that a vehicle fire was spreading toward the residence. Engine 21 reached the location first and relayed that a car vehicle adjacent to the house was fully engulfed in flames, posing a threat to nearby structures.
The firefighters of Engine 21 launched an attack on the fire, extinguishing it within a matter of minutes. However, the vehicle was a total loss, and the house sustained some heat damage.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
