The Indiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division is seeking the public’s help in gathering information regarding an interstate shooting that occurred early this morning on I-80. Around 3:00 a.m., a black Ford Mustang GT was traveling in the westbound lane of I-80 near Indianapolis Blvd when a road rage altercation unfolded between the Mustang and a light-colored 4-door sedan. The confrontation escalated, leading an occupant of the light-colored sedan to fire multiple gunshots from the vehicle, striking one of the Mustang’s occupants. The injured individual was promptly taken to a local hospital where they received medical treatment and were subsequently discharged.
Law enforcement officials are now urging anyone who witnessed the incident or possesses dashcam footage or photographs capturing the involved vehicles to come forward. Detective Eagles can be reached at 219-696-6242 for those with any relevant information.
