Daniel R. Pace, 44, of Bedford, Indiana, has been arrested on drug-related charges after a joint effort involving the Indiana State Police, the Bedford Police Department, and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, according to the ISP.
The investigation was prompted by information indicating Pace’s involvement in the distribution of substantial quantities of methamphetamine within Lawrence County, according to the ISP. Law enforcement officials conducted a traffic stop on Wednesday evening, June 28, 2023, within Lawrence County.
During the traffic stop and subsequent investigation, Bedford Police Sergeant Faheem Bade deployed his K-9 partner, Zazu. The canine alerted to the potential presence of controlled substances within the vehicle.
Officers conducted a search of the vehicle, leading to the discovery of a shoebox containing two clear plastic bags. Upon further examination, it was determined that the bags held approximately 1.45 pounds of methamphetamine, according to the ISP.
Pace was taken into custody and transferred to the Lawrence County Jail. He now faces charges of Dealing Methamphetamine Drug, classified as a Level 2 Felony, as well as Possession of Methamphetamine, categorized as a Level 3 Felony.
All suspects, including Daniel R. Pace, are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
