Will Power showed his prowess on the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course as he topped the timesheets in Practice 2 for the Honda Indy 200 on Friday. The NTT INDYCAR SERIES driver put in a blistering lap time of 1 minute, 6.4905 seconds, reaching a top speed of 122.255 mph.
Power, driving the No. 2 car, displayed his skill and precision, setting himself apart from the competition.
Alex Palou, behind the wheel of the No. 10 car, secured the second-fastest time of the session with a lap time of 1 minute, 6.7411 seconds, just 0.2506 seconds adrift from Power. Palou demonstrated that he is a formidable contender for the Honda Indy 200.
Colton Herta, driving the No. 26 car, claimed the third position in Practice 2. Herta completed a lap in 1 minute, 6.7791 seconds, just 0.0380 seconds behind Palou. With consistent performances throughout the session, Herta is poised to challenge the leaders during the race.
Pato O’Ward, in the No. 5 car, put on a display of speed, securing the fourth-fastest time with a lap of 1 minute, 6.7947 seconds. O’Ward’s consistency and determination make him a driver to watch as he aims to make his mark on the Honda Indy 200.
Defending champion Scott Dixon, piloting the No. 9 car, rounded out the top five in Practice 2. Dixon recorded a lap time of 1 minute, 6.8289 seconds.
Several other drivers also showcased their skills and potential during the session, including Scott McLaughlin in sixth, Graham Rahal in seventh, and David Malukas in eighth place.
With the Practice 2 session concluded, the drivers and teams will analyze the data and make the necessary adjustments ahead of the upcoming qualifying session and the main race. The 2.258-mile Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course promises thrilling action and intense competition as the NTT INDYCAR SERIES drivers battle for victory.
