The Monroe County Sports Hall of Fame Awards Banquet is scheduled to take place on Friday, July 14, at the Monroe Convention Center. The event will commence with a Meet and Greet session open to the public starting at 5 p.m., followed by the awards banquet at 6:45 p.m.
Tickets for the event are priced at $50 and can be purchased through the official website of the Monroe County Sports Hall of Fame at monroecountyshof.org. Attendees will have the opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of local athletes, coaches, and contributors who have made a significant impact on the sports community.
This year’s honorees include a distinguished group of athletes who have left a mark on their respective sports. Among them are Dan Burton, Garrett Butcher, Ben Chappell, Rachel Deloney, J.T. Young, and Paul Young. Each of these individuals has demonstrated skill, dedication, and sportsmanship throughout their careers.
In addition to the athletes, several esteemed coaches will be recognized for their efforts in mentoring and shaping the next generation of athletes. Jeannine Butler and Georgia Tidd will receive accolades for their contributions to the local sports scene.
The event will also shine a spotlight on individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancement of sports in Monroe County. Bud Damon and Mick Renneisen will be honored with the Contributor Award for their invaluable support and dedication to the local sports community.
